We're home! We ended up staying at CMH another night just to be safe. Otis didn't get sick like they predicted, he just had a slight blood sugar issue (it was a bit low on Wednesday and just a tiny bit low Thursday). They suspected that the issue(which they said isn't unusual) was due to the transition to the diet, but they wanted to be sure. By Friday his blood sugar had leveled off and he was released Saturday.
We are tired, but thankful to be home...and in our own beds.
This has been hard, but we love Otis SOOO much and feel very blessed to have an abundance of love from all around us. Kathy and I both feel that the best thing that we can do, as a family, at this point, is to be attentive to each other's needs and to stay positive. Some moments are a real struggle. We find it is tough, at times, to articulate (especially without sounding negative) what is happening, or how we feel. We're trying to move forward and focus on the smiles and beauty as opposed to the seizures and the unknown.
We're doing our best to control the things we can control, and handing the rest over to God.
We remain hopeful and prayerful that this treatment will be helpful.
Love y'all
